Wordpress 2.7 Beta 1 Released

Finally the wordpress 2.7 Beta 1 has been released. As said in many blog post, this new version bring out some fresh visual design. Unfortunately there is still some glitches in browser display, but the developer are promised that it will be fixed before final release. Because of this the final release date which was set at 10th November 2008, has been changed. The developer are now about two weeks behind schedule and need more time for user testing. 

At 10th November, the developer planned to get out a Release Candidate version. Which intended to be a high quality, almost-finished release that should comfortable enough to be used. After that a high impact bug that found after the release will be fixed. And the final release should get out in the end of November. 

Me myself has just downloaded the beta release, and will try to install this version in my localhost. I will post out a report on this testing.

Wordpress update 2.6.3

A new version of wordpress has been released, this released due to a bug that was found in one of the support library for wordpress. The library is Snoopy, this library is used by wordpress to read the feed that was displayed on the wordpress dashboard. This bug is considered to be low risk vulnerability for wordpress user, but none the less the developer have decided to release an update as a safety measure. For user of wordpress 2.6.2 who don’t want to download the whole release of 2.6.3, may just need to update 2 files in their wordpress installation. Just download the 2 files below and replace the same files in your wordpress installation.

  2. wp-includes/version.php

 

Bug fix for KurirTiki OSCommerce

A bug has been discovered on the KurirTiki OSCommerce Shipping Module. A bug which affect customer ability to choose which type of service that they want for the shipment. This bug come from quote function in the module, which are not properly coded. This release is a fix for that bug.

Magento Version 1.1.6 Now Available

September 22nd, 2008

Magento version 1.1.6 is now available for download and for upgrade through your Magento Connect Manager.  This version includes bug fixes for Magento 1.1.x that are listed in the release notes section.

We also want to note that there is a diff file for the changes between 1.1.5 and 1.1.6 available.

We will also be releasing an updated version of the sample data in the coming days, so stay tuned to the Magento Blog for information on this.

Magento TIKI Shipping Module

My first magento shipping module is finally uploaded to magento connect sites. This shipping module was mainly targeted for use with TIKI, which was one of popular Indonesian Carrier service provider. But it should be able to adapted for different provider. The module will take the destination city of the shipping, and seek for a match in their data table. If matched the cost will be calculated and then be displayed to the customer.

A new choice for e-commerce platform has been developed, with it current 1.1 production quality release Magento Commerce has attract numerous developer from around the world. Included here are Indonesian web developer. Even though it server requirement are a bit high for normal hosting service, but more and more hosting service are qualified to run this e-commerce platform.
